George Franklin studied poetry at Harvard with Elizabeth Bishop, Robert Lowell, and Robert Fitzgerald. He later received an M.F.A. from Brown and an M.A, in English literature from Columbia. His poems have appeared in a number of magazines, most recently The Recorder and the upcoming issue of Epiphany, and in two anthologies, First Flowering: The Best of The Harvard Advocate, and “Roof: Poems From the Naropa Institute. He worked for fifteen years in the editorial department of Siddha Yoga ashrams in India and upstate New York. He currently lives in Brooklyn.
In 2008 Six Gallery Press will publish The Fall of Miss Alaska, Franklin's first book of Poems.
